About Us

Tallow & Hive started during COVID, when we found ourselves wanting to get back to simpler, more natural products, the kind without a list of ingredients we couldn't pronounce. At first we were buying bison tallow and paying over $100 a jar. We loved it, but we knew that wasn't realistic for us or most people, so we decided to make our own and find a way to bring the cost down for the average person.

It reminded us of something from generations back. My grandpa (who was a butcher) used to rub pork lard on my face after my mother bathed me, an old habit, long before "tallow skincare" was a trend, rooted in something people have always known... rendered animal fat nourishes skin and helps it stay hydrated.

What we made for ourselves, family and friends started asking about. Where did we get it? Could they get some too? That's really how Tallow & Hive became a company, not a plan to build a business, but people close to us wanting in on something that was working.

As we grew, we knew we didn't want to leave anyone out. Bison tallow isn't for everyone, so we moved into soap, made with the same care and standards, for anyone who wants natural and organic without the tallow.

Even our honey stayed close to home. It comes from our extended family's bee farm, so it's local as well as organic, and that matters to us just as much.

We render our own bison tallow and make our own soap. No outside labels, no premade bases, no shortcuts. We use the best quality organic ingredients we can source, and we do the work ourselves.

We're not here to chase growth for its own sake or hope to sell off to a Corp. We started this to get away from so much synthetic, chemical everything, and we're here to help anyone else looking to do the same.
